Montefalco Sagrantino

Montefalco Sagrantino

My passion and love for my land and the Sagrantino grape was inherited from my father, Lodovico, who first had the inspiration to vinify Sagrantino dry instead of using the traditional Passito method. This Sagrantino is a single terroir wine, meaning every vine grows in the same terroir composition, giving the wine both incredible elegance and complexity. For the vinification, I didn’t want to alter anything mother nature had gifted us, so the wine is fermented in cement tanks with selected indigenous yeasts and aged in tonneaux and botti grandi. My Sagrantino has extraordinary longevity, allowing you to age these bottles for as much as 30 years

Thank you for your interest and support. I hope to see you soon in Bevagna.

Each year the amount of wine we produce varies according to natural conditions. For this reason, we can only supply so much… the demand often outstrips our stock. Each bottle is labeled with an individual number corresponding to the total production of that year.

I am lucky enough to farm my vines in the rolling hills of Bevagna in Umbria, where the Sagrantino grape has been cultivated for centuries. These picturesque vineyards allow me to produce this unique, precious, single terroir wine that I hope you will love as I do.

Our dry farmed vines are the winery’s true treasure, carefully cultivated to produce the highest quality fruit. They are the most vital component for making unique, authentic wines that are a direct expression of the majestic landscape in which they are grown.

From the vineyard to the wine cellar, every choice we make is done so to achieve the best possible result.
